Biographical Summary
David W. Manzo has taught in the Boston College PULSE Program since 1980. In addition in 2004, he became the sixth president of Cotting School. Founded in 1893, Cotting School is America’s first day school for children with a broad spectrum of learning and communication disabilities, physical challenges, and complex medical conditions. Prior to assuming this position, he served 20 years as president of COMPASS, a private educational and social services organization serving high-risk, inner-city children and their families.
David is currently a board member for the following organizations: Massachusetts Association of 766-Approved Private Schools, COMPASS, the Children's League of Massachusetts, Pine Street Inn, Protestant Guild for Human Services and Roxbury Latin School.
He is the recipient of several awards, including two from Boston College - the Exemplary Service Award from the PULSE Program and the Award of Excellence in Public Service from the Alumni Association. He also received the Tennessee-based Lyndhurst Foundation's Prize that honors individuals whose contributions in a variety of fields - including education and community service - embody "creativity, passion, and good will." To the dismay of his friends in Boston, he is a life-long New York Yankee fan.
