{smcl} {* version 1.0.3 16apr2011}{...} {cmd:help callsado} {hline} {title:Title} {p 5} {cmd:callsado} {hline 2} Find (user-written) ado-files called by (a)do-file {title:Syntax} {p 8} {cmd:callsado} {it:{help filename}} [{cmd:,} {opt path(path)} {opt sys:dir(codewords)} {opt ext:ension(.ext)}] {p 5} where {it:codewords} are {p 8} {hi:UPDATES}, {hi:BASE}, {hi:PLUS}, {hi:PERSONAL}, {hi:OLDPLACE} {title:Description} {pstd} {cmd:callsado} finds (user-written) ado-files called by (a)do-files. Any ado-file's name found in {it:filename} is displayed together with the line in which it is found. The program is intended for use by programmers who lost track of the user-written ados called by their (a)do-files. There is no default extension provided for {it:filename}. Type e.g. {cmd:callsado foo.ado} {title:Remarks} {pstd} Note that {cmd:callsado} does not only report ado-files actually called, but rather names of ado-files mentioned in {it:filename}. For example the line {cmd:local strip foobar} {pstd} in the do-file foo.do will cause {cmd:callsado} to report that {cmd:strip.ado} is called by foo.do. The user will have to decide whether the ado-file is actually called or just mentioned. This said, keep track of the ado-files called by your programs while writing next time! {title:Options} {phang} {opt path} specifies the path where {it:filename} is to be found. {cmd:callsado} uses {help findfile} to locate {it:filename}. {phang} {opt sysdir(codewords)} specifies the directories from which to obtain a list of installed ado-files. Default {it:codewords} are "PLUS PERSONAL". This option is seldom used. {phang} {opt extension(.ext)} finds files with extension {it:.ext}. Default extension is {hi:.ado}. This option is seldom used. {title:Example} {phang2}{cmd:. callsado foo.ado}{p_end} {phang2}{cmd:. callsado foo.ado ,extension(.mata)}{p_end} {title:Acknowledgments} {pstd} Partha S. Sarkar suggested this problem on {...} {browse "http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2011-09/msg00214.html":Statlist}. {pstd} Kit Baum made helpful comments regarding comment lines in searched files and the specification of {it:filename}. {pstd} I am very grateful to Matthew White, who suggested option {opt path()} and fixed problems caused by left single and compound double quotes and local (global) macros used in (a)do-files. {title:Author} {pstd}Daniel Klein, University of Bamberg, klein.daniel.81@gmail.com {title:Also see} {psee} Online: {help ado}, {help sysdir} {p_end}
