The {cmd:ncread} command is used to read data for a specified variable from a NetCDF file into Stata. It can read the entire variable or a specified section of data. If varname is not specified, ncread displays the meta information of the NetCDF file.

The {cmd:ncread} command requires the netcdfAll-5.9.1.jar. Use {cmd:netcdf_init} for setting up.

{opt clear} clear the current dataset for importing data. It is only activated without csv() option.

{opt csv(pathtocsv[,replace])} export data to a CSV file. If replace is specified, the existing file will be overwritten.

{opt origin(numlist)} specifies the starting position for reading. Must be used together with the size option.

{opt size(numlist)} specifies the size of each dimension to read. If not specified, the entire variable is read by default. If the element of numlist is -1, the entire dimension is read.
