RePEc documentation: The monthly mailings and IDEAS top lists The following procedure has not been automatized so far. Indeed, it involves four different computers... Log into crefe.dse.uqam.ca, account adrepec, directory RePEc/local/stats. ftp to www.unites.uqam.ca, account zimmermann, directory logs_apache to get latest log. Update the two first lines of apachestats.pl. Make sure the directory mentioned in $NMonth exists. run the following line: perl apachestats.pl > apache.out & (apache.out is the file sent out to repec-admin). This will take a while. Go into the appropriate YYMM directory. ftp to swopec.hhs.se, account anonymous, directory LogEc get stat-YYYY-MM.txt LogEc.dat get author-YYYY-MM.txt LogEcA.dat get series-YYYY-MM.txt LogEcS.dat Go to RePEc/local/soft. Modify $Month and $AMonth in topperson.pl, then run it. This will take a while. Do the same with maintainer.pl. Go to RePEc/local/stat/YYMM/. ftp the top* files to www.unites.uqam.ca, account zimmermann, directory WWW/top/. ftp the Maintainer.rnk and Author.rnk files to fondue.dse.uqam.ca account zimm, directory web/repec/soft. Log into fondue.dse.uqam.ca, account zimm, directory web/repec/soft. Modify maintainemail.pl with appropriate messages that will be sent to all RePEc archive maintainers. Then run perl maintainemail.pl & This takes a little while. Modify now hopecemail.pl similarly, but be sure to update also %Articles and %Papers with the latest numbers. Then run perl hopecemail.pl & This can take several hours, there is a two second timeout between emails to prevent a sendmail overflow. If it hangs somewhere, just remove the sent lines in Author.rnk and rerun. Author: Christian Zimmermann, 2002-05-19
