The Economics online waitlist system allows you to request a reservation on the waiting list for a closed Economics course/section. Do not submit a request before your registration time when you select your other courses. "Early" waitlist requests will be discarded.
Not every Economics course/section is available for waitlisting (for instance, courses not yet closed and those requiring department permission).
You may request one or two waitlist entries. If your first request is granted, the second will be denied. If the second choice is available before the first, we will grant that and keep the first choice on file; if it, too, opens up, we will add you to that roster, using the second choice course as the drop course.
Department staff will usually fill available seats from the waiting list in order of request. However, we reserve the right to fill available seats taking special circumstances into account (e.g., a second semester senior). The form contains a field in which you may indicate special circumstances.
To make a waitlist reservation, you must provide your BC username, Eaglenumber and class year. You must also indicate the course and section to be dropped from your current registration. This may be an Economics course or a course in any other department. In order for us to process your request, the time block for the requested class must be open or you must authorize us to drop the conflicting course. Authorization is automatic if the course to be dropped is the conflicting one. If it is a different course (e.g., if you request EC13101 and will drop EC13102, but you are also registered for HS08201 that meets at the same time as EC13101) you must specify "drop HS082" in the comments field.
Any waitlist request that does not supply all information needed to process it will be discarded. You may check on the status of your requests at any time. If your circumstances change, you must delete (or amend) your waitlist request, as we will drop the specified course and place you in the requested course if your request is outstanding and seats are available.
