The file EN_WORLD.ASC contains factor endowment data for all the countries in the Penn World Tables from 1970 to 1990. These data are a subset of a larger effort to compile factor endowment data for a large set of countries from 1950 to the present. This dataset should be considered work in progress.
The latest version of this dataset is available via anonymous ftp from pundit.sscnet.ucla.edu.

Record layout:
columns 1-13 - Country name columns 15-20 - Country code (see COUNTRY.TXT) columns 22-23 - Year columns 25-31 - kpwt: capital stock series from the Penn World Tables columns 33-39 - kstock: real net capital stock in millions of US dollars. This is the accumulated, depreciated, and deflated series (15 years, 13.33% depreciation rate) of gross fixed capital formation in each country. Investment deflators were taken from Summers and Heston (1991). kpwt is provided for comparison purposes. columns 41-47 - land1: area of arable land and land under permanent crops or permanent pasture in thousands of hectares. These data are taken from the Production Yearbook of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization. columns 49-56 - land2: area of forests and woodland measured in thousands of hectares. These data are taken from the FAO Production Yearbook. columns 58-65 - labors: skilled labor force in thousands, as reported in the International Labour Organization, Year Book of Labour Statistics, Table 2B. Skilled labor force is defined as occupation categories 0/1 and 2. columns 67-73 - laboru: unskilled employment in thousands, as reported in the ILO Yearbook of Labour Statistics, Table 2B. Unskilled labor force is defined as total labor force minus occupation categories 0/1 and 2. Missing values: Several of the variables have missing values, which are denoted with a period.
