&nbsp;<h2>IADB Conference Hosted at BC</h2>

<font size="-1">Boston College was the location for a very successful international conference 
on the "Balance Sheet Effects of Exchange Rate 
Fluctuations in Latin America", sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank and the Department of 
Economics at Boston College. The
conference, held May 23-24, brought 
together six research teams of researchers from Latin America who have gained access to 
firm level data on the currency composition of 
debt. Using these data, the researchers have empirically investigated  
the importance for firms' investment decisions of the balance sheet effects of 
exchange rate fluctuations. Papers presented at the conference
