Segal elected Fellow of the Econometric Society

Professor Uzi Segal has been elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society, "An International Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory in its Relation to Statistics and Mathematics": the most prestigious learned society in the discipline of economics, with a world-wide membership. The Society publishes the journal Econometrica, one of the most selective and influential in economics. The annual election of Fellows selects about 20 candidates per year from the Society's membership, each of whom must receive at least 30 percent of current voting Fellows' votes. On receiving this honor, Segal joins Roche Prof. Arthur Lewbel and Prof. Tayfun Sönmez, both of whom were elected Fellows of the Econometric Society in 2003.

Uzi Segal joined the Boston College faculty as a Professor in 1999. He earned the Ph.D. from Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1984 and served as a professor at University of Western Ontario for several years, having progressed through the ranks at the University of Toronto. He has served on several editorial boards and has published extensively in Journal of Economic Theory, Econometrica, Social Choice and Welfare, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty and Journal of Mathematical Economics.
