Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences Promotions Committee

From the Boston College Faculty Handbook:
"Promotion Committees:
Established in each school and college of the University in accord with the University Statutes, each promotion committee has at least four members elected from the tenured faculty of the school or college for two-year terms. The dean of the school or college is a member of the promotion committee and acts as its Chairperson. Promotion policies and procedures are presented in detail in the University Statutes (Chapter II, Sections 7 and 8)."
The Arts and Sciences Promotions Committee is composed of six tenured faculty members and the Dean of the College. Two faculty members represent each of the three divisions (humanities; social sciences and history; natural sciences, mathematics and computer science) of the College.  At least four of the six faculty members, and at least one faculty member from each division, must hold the rank of Professor.  All members are elected at large.


Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences Educational Policy Committees

From the Boston College Faculty Handbook:
"Educational Policy Committees:
These committees or their equivalent are established in each school or college to participate in the formulation of academic policy and planning decisions."
Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences faculty members serve on the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences Educational Policy Committee (A&S EPC) and the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Educational Policy Committee (Grad EPC). All full-time faculty may serve on the EPC. Tenured and tenure-track faculty may serve on the Grad EPC.
