China Project

Established in the Department of Philosophy in 1985, the China Project has three distinct purposes:

1. To offer China Fellowships to Chinese professors of Western Philosophy to come to Boston College to do research and writing
   
2. To publish a bilingual (Chinese and English) journal, Society & Culture (primarily distributed in China)
   
3. To promote and arrange for American professors to teach Western philosophy in China.

During the first decade (1985-1995), eight China Fellowships have been offered and accepted; and five American professors have gone to China to teach Western Philosophy. For further information please consult Prof. Frank Soo (Carney 264, extension 3867).
