Alternatively, {cmd:examples8} looks for help on {it:function()} (note the parentheses) and displays a definition in the Results window. It is especially designed to show quick and easy reminders of the syntax of a given command. {p 4 4 2}{cmd:wexamples} is identical except that output appears in the Viewer. {title:Remarks} {p 4 4 2}{cmd:examples8} is a renaming of the original version of {cmd:examples}, which is otherwise unchanged. {cmd:examples8} should work in Stata 8 or 9. As from July 2007, {cmd:examples} downloaded from SSC should work in Stata 10 upwards, modulo unforeseeable changes in syntax. {p 4 4 2}Given a {it:topicname}, {cmd:examples8} looks for sections starting with titles specified in SMCL containing the word {cmd:Examples} (or alternatively {cmd:Example}) within any help file corresponding to {it:topicname}. It will not be able to show material from older, pre-SMCL help files or examples given otherwise. {title:Examples} {p 4 8}{inp:. examples8 regress}{p_end} {p 4 8}{inp:. examples8 reg} {p 4 8}{inp:. examples8 normden()} {title:Author} {p 4 4 2}Nicholas J.
