For example, it might be helpful to keep {cmd:describe}'s output, i.e. a description of the data in memory, in a separate window. {pstd}{cmd:viewresults} executes {it:command} and displays a copy of the command's results in the Viewer. {pstd}{cmd:dview} displays the results of Stata's {cmd:describe} command in a Viewer named "describe". It is a shorthand for {com}. viewresults, name(describe) : describe{txt} {title:Options} {phang} {opt nonew} specifies that a new Viewer window not be opened for the results if a Viewer window is already open. The default is for a new Viewer window to be opened each time {cmd:viewresults} is issued so that multiple results may be viewed at once. {cmd:nonew} causes the results to be displayed in the topmost open Viewer. {cmd:nonew} is not allowed with {cmd:dview}. {cmd:dview}'s default is to display the results in a window named "describe". {phang} {opt name(viewername)} specifies that the results be displayed in a Viewer window named {it:viewername}. If the named window already exists, its contents will be replaced. If the named window does not exist, it will be created. {phang} {opt nocmd} causes the command line to be excluded from the displayed results. {title:Examples} {com}. {stata "sysuse auto, clear"} . {stata "dview"} . {stata "regress price weight"} . {stata "viewresults: estimates table"}{txt} {title:Author} {p 4 4 2} Ben Jann, ETH Zurich, jannb@ethz.ch {p 4 4 2} Thanks for citing this software as follows: {p 8 8 2} Jann, B.
